Federal Minister for Finance & Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb today visited the Auditor-General of Pakistan Headquarters and inaugurated the Centre for Government Data Analytics, marking a key step toward strengthening transparency, governance, and digital transformation in the public sector. Auditor-General of Pakistan Mr. Maqbool Ahmad Gondal highlighted the shift from quantity to quality in audits, emphasizing entity- and project-based reporting supported by modern data analytics tools to improve efficiency and accountability. Controller General of Accounts Mr. Umar Ali Khan briefed the Minister on progress in public financial management reforms, including cashless and digital payments, RAAST, online billing, SAP HANA migration, and the transition toward accrual-based accounting with World Bank support. Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to continued reforms, digitalization, and efficient use of public resources for the benefit of citizens. The Minister also planted a sapling in the compound of the Auditor-General of Pakistan.
