Islamabad: A team of World Bank called on Acting Auditor General of Pakistan Mr. Javaid Jehangir in his office here in Islamabad. The World Bank team led by Mr. Fily Sissoko (Practice Manager) congratulated the Department of the Auditor General of Pakistan (DAGP) on formulation of its first ever Strategic Plan (2015-19) and committed support for the initiatives like Audit Management Information System (AMIS) and establishment of a Centre of Excellence named National Academy of Public Finance and Accountancy (NAPFA) at Islamabad. Acting Auditor General of Pakistan briefed the delegation on the objectives and activities covered under the Strategic Plan of the Department. Mr. Javed Jahangir informed that the Department was looking forward to strengthening of Internal Auditing System of all the ministries/divisions of the Federal Government and improvement in feedback mechanism from all the stakeholders. Moreover, he told the World Bank team that the Department had proposed and forwarded draft amendments in the AGP Ordinance,2001 envisaging more functional independence of the Department. The World Bank showed keen interest in supporting SAI, Pakistan on Strategic Plan, Internal Audit, Feedback Mechanism and strengthening of positions of Chief Finance and Accounts Officers (CFAOs). The World Bank delegation also committed to follow up the proposed amendment amendments in the AGP,Ordinance,2001.
